Team SA departs on Sunday 29/11 from O R Tambo Airport at 17:55. The team members arrived from the different destinations before 13:00. Cricket South-Africa sponsored the team with 2 sets of playing gear, 2 shorts, 2 T-shirts and a track suit each.

The aircraft left almost 1 hour later from OR Tambo International Airport and arrived late in Sydney for the connecting flight to Melbourne. The team then took a later flight out of Sydney, arriving in Melbourne at 19h00pm.

1 December
The team departs after breakfast for their first training session at Prahran field. The players were a bit jetlagged after the long flights. The training session did the team well.

2nd December
The team departs to the Junction Oval for the first match of the Series.
Australia batted first and scored 158 for 7. South Africa had it very tough but was hopeful for at least 100. We had to be satisfied with 91 all out.
Outstanding Bowlers: Jan Makololo 2 for 24 and Lee Benting 2 for 23
Outstanding Batsmen: Ayanda Kolisi 17 and Jan Makololo 15.

Ayanda Kolisi left the field temporarily due to a very bad sinus headache. He had an amazing come-back with the bat, after the headache has subsided. He made South Africa proud by scoring comfortably, posting a respectable score of 17.
